Income threshold for Employer Sponsored visas to rise from 01 July 2025

Date: 25 March 2025

From 1 July 2025, skilled visa income thresholds will rise by 4.6%, in line with annual wage growth (AWOTE).

New Application Charges

Income thresholds are indexed annually so wages for skilled migrants increase at the same rate as Australian workers. This ensures that people cannot use skilled migration to undercut Australian workers.

From 1 July 2025, indexation changes will be as follows:

Income Threshold

Increased

Impacted Subclasses

The Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT)

From $73,150 to $76,515

Core Skills stream of SC 482 and SC 186

Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT)

From $135,000 to $141,210

Specialist Skills stream of SC 482

Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT)

From  $73,150 to 76,515

SC 494 and SC 187

New nominations from 1 July 2025 must meet the new threshold or market salary rate, whichever is higher.

Existing visa holders and nominations lodged before 1 July 2025 are not affected.
