The Department of Home Affairs launched the Global Talent Independent (GTI) program on November 4th, 2019, to attract exceptional talent in Australia. The GTI program is a part of the Australian Government initiative, “Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce”, to attract high-value businesses and individuals to Australia.

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL TALENT VISA?

Subclass 858 visa provides a streamlined and priority pathway for highly skilled, talented individuals in ten specific target sectors and encourage them to settle permanently in Australia.

It requires the applicant to be prominent in the target sector with evidence of outstanding achievements and the ability to attract a salary at or above the Fair Work high income threshold.

How to Apply for a Global Talent Visa

There are two steps in applying for a Global Talent Visa

Step 1 – Apply for an Expression of Interest

Step 2 – Apply for a Visa

Once you have successfully secured an invitation, you can then apply for a visa. You must also submit your nominator. Please note that you cannot change your nominator once you have lodged a Global Talent visa application.
