STUDENT VISASA student visa is required for people who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents to study in Australia. A student visa will be granted only if you wish to undertake a registered course or part of a registered course on a full-time basis. Working while studying in Australia When a student visa is initially granted, there will not have any work rights. However after commencement of studies, you and your family can apply for work rights. Once granted, you may only work up to 20 hours a week during term period and unlimited hours during vacation. There is a mandatory cancellation of student visa if the work rights are misused.
